Featured Couple - Meet Ashley and Sean
Meet newlyweds Ashley and Sean! Both natives to Oregon, they grew up merely ten miles from each other and didn’t know what the future had in store for them. In 2014, they were introduced by their mutual friend Elle at a Dynamic Group Training class at Club Sport. Long story short, they’re still best friends to this day but are now living their lives in love.
We know what you’re thinking. How did Sean propose? Their story starts at the Trail Blazer playoff game in 2016 against the Golden State Warriors. Sean works for the Blazers, so Ashley frequently attended games. Sean and Ashley had talked about the idea of flying to San Francisco the following day for the next round of playoffs if the Blazers won, and they did!
In San Francisco, they planned to get dinner with Ashley’s friends from college. Sean met Ashley at the hotel door and walked her up to their room seemingly over excited. After getting ready for a night out he explained that he wanted to show her a special place before meeting her friends.
They stepped out onto the busy streets, hand-in-hand, headed toward a surprise. They stopped at a small Italian Villa hotel called the Villa Florence. Sean walked her up to a small fountain outside the hotel and told her the story of how his great grandfather immigrated from Ireland and stayed in this hotel with his grandmother when she was young. That he grew up hearing stories of his family playing jax on the pavement just outside this small little hotel. After sharing this sentimental spot with her and how important it was that he share it with her, he got down on one knee and to her utter shock asked her to marry him. Her response? “Have you asked my dad?!” He of course, already had and they were engaged!
Flash forward to their stunning wedding and reception! Based on a backyard Tuscan dinner, their marriage was celebrated on Ashley's parent’s property and filled with olive branch greenery, garlands, golden candlesticks, blush colored flowers, Italian wine and even a farm-to-table pizza food truck for dinner! The evening came to an end with Ed Sheeran’s Tenerife Sea playing as guests held votive candles and Sean and Ashley danced as husband and wife. As for the honeymoon, the theme of Italy continued as they ventured to Florence. Take a look at their beautiful celebration!
