Introducing the New Greener Diamond Agricultural Training Center

As 2018 rolled around, MiaDonna announced that 22% of profits from 2017 would be donated and used to fund the creation of the new Greener Diamond Agricultural Training Center. Expected to open in early 2019, the Center will be located in Liberia, Africa. As The Greener Diamond is run entirely by volunteers and is fully funded by MiaDonna consumers' purchases, every cent of this contribution will directly support the project’s funding. We are incredibly excited to continue our mission of economically empowering former mining communities through the new Center. Here, up to 100 people will be trained and employed in agricultural trade skills, all while earning an income of their own.

Furthermore, the Center will be self-sustaining, as upon finishing their training, participants will have the opportunity to start a farm of their own with the necessary seeds and animals along with a grant. We cannot wait to see the community’s progress as individuals begin to develop new trades of their own, thereby helping to reduce poverty and food insecurity in Liberia.

Celebrating Our Recognition as One of Oregon’s 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies

On June 7th, 2018, the Portland Business Journal recognized MiaDonna as one of the 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in Oregon. With a 58% increase in revenue over the past two years and an addition of four new employees in 2018 alone, MiaDonna moved even higher up the Portland Business Journal’s rankings from last year's position.

This kind of growth within the lab-grown diamond industry is expected to continue. In fact, Forbes states that “sales of lab-created diamonds, now estimated at $150 million, are expected to increase to $1 billion by 2020 and outpace mined diamonds.”

Now recognized by the Portland Business Journal five times over for our financial growth, we at MiaDonna are proud of these achievements and look forward to continually raising the bar as an industry leader.

Announcing Our New Partnership with One Tree Planted

We are excited to announce our new partnership with One Tree Planted, an organization which has planted 80,000 trees throughout Oregon in just the first three months of 2018. Through this new collaboration, we will continue planting one tree for every purchase made. One Tree Planted is a nonprofit working to keep our planet resilient while creating sustainable job opportunities through their financial support of reforestation organizations across the globe.

One Tree Planted’s commitment to social responsibility and reforestation efforts closely align with our endeavors to protect the Earth from the devastating environmental damage of mining through our pledge to use only sustainable practices. We are proud to partner with this organization that is doing so much for our global environment.
