Featured Couple - Meet Nehemiah & Lexi
What’s better than a beautifully planned surprise proposal with a custom MiaDonna Lab-Grown Diamond ring? We’re not sure, but WOW did Nehemiah hit this proposal out of the park! We reached out to learn all the details about the beautiful relationship between Nehemiah and Lexi, and we’re thrilled to share their engagement moments with you.
Nehemiah popped the question on June 19th, 2020, after they had been dating for a little over a year and a half. When we asked how they met, he spilled the cutest coincidence. They met while working at the Nike store and discovered they attended the same university as well. One day, Nehemiah accidentally walked into the women’s restroom, and when he realized his mistake he walked out and ran right into Lexi! Their impromptu meeting kicked off the beginning of a friendship that would turn into the sweetest romance one year later.
Regarding the dream proposal, we had to know all of the details! How did he propose? Well, let’s say Nehemiah had it ALL planned out. He convinced Lexi they were celebrating two years of seeing one another, and she totally fell for it. Nehemiah took Lexi to brunch and then to experience the Oregon Gardens in the afternoon. They were strolling along, book in hand, since reading together is one of their favorite pastimes. As if that wasn’t special enough, Nehemiah planned a helicopter ride for a tour of the bridges and skyscrapers of Portland. To kick off the evening of their special day, they went home to get ready for dinner. Prepared to enjoy some delicious Thai food to-go on the Portland waterfront, Nehemiah was ready for the final surprise: watching the sunset from the nature reserve. The clouds tried to cover the evening sunset, but Nehemiah was determined. Once they pulled up to the nature reserve, Nehemiah blindfolded Lexi so she wouldn’t see the cars belonging to their friends and family in the parking lot. Lexi removed the blindfold on the path and was suspicious, looking to Nehemiah and asking if he was going to propose. She even patted him down to see if he was hiding the ring! Luckily for Nehemiah, someone else was holding the ring for him at the final spot. They continued walking along the trail and a cellist was playing in the tall grass. As Lexi turns the corner, her friends and family were there while photographer, Casi Yost, was snapping away and capturing the moment. Nehemiah led Lexi onto the grass through a path lined with candles and rose petals. They stopped on a blanket, and Nehemiah began to tell her just how much he loved her. Of course, with all the adrenaline rushing, she wouldn’t remember any of it later! He got down on one knee, and the rest is history. To top it off, Nehemiah had the backyard decorated back home for a little get together after the proposal for the friends and family who attended.
They’re definitely still in the planning stages for their big day, but they’re hoping for a September 2021 wedding, which will (obviously) be gorgeous! Regarding the bling of choice for Nehemiah and Lexi, Nehemiah chose to customize an engagement ring inspired by the Amira style, and the results are STUNNING.
